Please note: This seasonal tour runs annually between December and March. The dates are subject to change.

Many people claim that Japan is a tiny country, but this tininess sometimes translates into convenience ---- You can plan a day trip to a fine snow resort from Tokyo.
Take Joetsu Shinkansen, a bullet train, from Tokyo Station. It will take about 70-80 minutes to get to Gala Yuzawa Station in Nigata.

Gala Yuzawa is the most convenient resort from Tokyo. Everything but the slopes, meaning changing room, hot spring, and restaurants, is located in a building, which also houses the station. You can get changed to your gear after 10 minutes you get off the train, and you are off to the the slopes in 15 minutes. Can't bring your gears to Japan? No problem, a rental service is also available.

The tour leaves Tokyo Station around 0730-0800 and arrives at the foot of slope at 0900-0930. The next 6 hours are well spent on the slope. (Depending on your skill - your guide will navigate you the suitability of each slope.)

After hours of indulging with snow - onsen is available for those of you who wish to soak your ice cold body.
As an option - we also make a stop at Ponshukan - (A house of Japanese Sake) Walk into a room called "Kikizake Machine (Sake Tasting Machine)" and JPY500 is all you need to enjoy 5 small cups of sake, out of 130 selections from 96 brewers.

The tour ends in Tokyo Station - around 6pm to 7pm, meaning you still have plenty of time to grab dinner and continue the day with night activities in the city.

Explore Mt.Takao when the weather is allowed you can also see Mt.Fuji from the top. This tour is about 5.5 hours hikes around Mt.Takao. Mt. Takao is part of Tokyo’s Hachioji City and is the most popular climbing spot in the Kanto area, located about 50 kilometers west of the city center. It is a wonderful mountain, designated as Michelin three star along with Mt. Fuji in 2007, and it’s a national park where you can leisurely enjoy mountain walks even on a day trip. The mountain has been especially important to Japanese since 744, when Emperor Shomu commanded the creation of Yakushiji, a famous temple, and thereby encouraged followers to come to the mountain.

In this tour, you will meet your guide at Keio Takaosanguchi Station, visit the "Takao 599 museum." and climb the mountain after studying the flora and fauna of Mt. Takao with explanations by the guide. You can enjoy the seasonal nature around the mountain path. Although there are several climbing courses, guides will take you to the less strenuous course if you are not up to serious hiking. You will arrive at the summit in about one and a half to two hours with a break along the way. If the weather is nice, you will enjoy a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji that lives up to being part of the “Kanto Fuji One Hundred Sceneries” from the summit. We’ll ease the tiredness of climbing at "Takaosan Onsen" after coming down the mountain. Leave the hustle and bustle of the city center, listen carefully to great nature, and enjoy a rejuvenating day.

Take a guided day trip to a nestled up in the mountains, Furry Fox Village with over a hundred foxes that have been domesticated. The foxes here roam freely and although they are quite used to humans, it is important to remember that they are still wild animals and to approach them with caution. The drive from the city is about 3 hours and does not fall short when it comes to scenery. As you make your way up the mountain the journey gives you a glimpse into the outskirts of the city that should not be missed. Enjoy lunch once you arrive at the Fox Village and Forest.

The tour begins bright an early this morning as you are picked up from Oji Station in Kita, which is north Tokyo.

From here, you will begin the drive north to Zao. There is plenty of opportunities to stop for some beautiful photos of the countryside and to also just really appreciate the views of the mountains, villages, and much more. Though the trip typically about 3 hours, the endless photo opportunities can sometimes push this back a bit (dependent on you).

Once you arrive at the Fox Village and Forest you will stop and enjoy lunch before admiring the foxes. The village is a fox lovers paradise and a great escape from the city for a day.

There are several species of foxes that live and play in Zao. Though rules do need to be followed and taken seriously here, the entire environment is very calm and easy going.

Once you have taken the afternoon to soak in the sweet little foxes and you will begin your descent down the mountain. Should you decide you want to stop for more photos on the way down, this is no problem at all. Arriving back to Tokyo you will be returned to Oji Station to catch your train.
